The drastic change in temperature is a factor, the lips tend to dry. People usually lick their lips due to the lack of fluids in the body. There’re many other reasons that may generate this condition if I am not mistaken, all ever we have suffered. Mostly we all get suffered with chapped lips in cold season. However need more lip care with the changing season. There’re many commercial creams and balms, gloss available in the market but, would not you like to make your own lip balm? The advantage is you will know it is fully homemade or natural lip balm. Also, will be aware of the ingredients that compose it. In my content I will tell you about lip care. Also, how to make your own lip balms and the best thing that are used in these balms are natural ingredients.
DIY Lip Balm (Recipes)
Orange Lip Balm
You need to:
1 teaspoon of beeswax
1 teaspoon coconut oil
1 teaspoon calendula oil
2-3 drops of orange essential oil
3 drops of Vitamin E
Procedure:
Melt the beeswax and add the coconut oil and calendula, when well blended add the drops of vitamin E and essential oil of orange. Pour into containers of your choice. Use this balm for lip care regularly throughout the winter twice a day.
Rose Lip Balm
This homemade lip balm moisturizes the lips and gives a soft color to lips too.
You need to:
2 tablespoons almond oil
1 tablespoon dried Rose petals
1 tablespoon cocoa butter
1/4 teaspoon of vitamin E oil
2 to 3 drops of rose oil or vanilla
Procedure:
Warm almond oil with dried Rose petals, simmer for about thirty minutes.
Strain the liquid through a fine sieve.
Liquefy the cocoa butter using a double boiler.
Pour the cocoa butter to the mixture of hot oil and add the rest of the essential oils.
Shake the mixture gently and transfer to a container for storage.
Use as needed.
Honey Lip Balm
The lip balm with honey and orange essential oil has a delicious aroma. Chamomile oil makes it ideal to take care of chapped lips, also regenerates and accelerates healing processes.
You need to:
Yellow beeswax 2gr
3g Cocoa Butter
Chamomile Oil 7gr
Honey 2gr
Vitamin E 3gr
2 drops of essential oil of orange
Procedure
Disinfect containers and utensils before you start. Melt the wax and butter in double boiler. When it has melted, remove from heat and add chamomile oil, stir with a spatula or spoon.
When it has cooled down a bit, add honey, Chamomile and essential oil, stir and store in a container. Put it in the fridge for an hour to solidify.
Important: The orange essential oil is a photosensitizer. Do not use before or after sun exposure. If you want to prepare a lip balm or to use for summer days with plenty of sunshine, better change the essential oil of orange to the other.
